About NSPCC Cambridgeshire Branch
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884 and its vision is to end cruelty to children. It does this by listening to children, fighting for their rights, helping them when they need it and making them safe. It has service centres across the UK to help children and families affected by providing support and guidance. It also provides the vital ChildLine service, founded in 1986 by Esther Rantzen and her team. This work is financed by a committed and caring community of people who give their money and time to the NSPCC. The Cambridgeshire Branch covers the area which incorporates Ely, Cambridge, St Neots, Huntingdon, St Ives, Cambourne and surrounding villages.
Branch members organise a host of events throughout the year to raise much needed funds for the NSPCC's work. These include: dining clubs in Cambridge and Huntingdon, concerts, bridge and tennis tournaments, sponsored events, fashion shows and much more.
